Allah's Messenger's forgetfulness in worldly matters

Q 2: Was the Prophet (peace be upon him) liable to forgetfulness?

A: Yes, the Prophet (peace be upon him) was liable to forgetfulness. However, Allah (Exalted be He) alerted him when the matter was related to the Shari`ah. It was narrated in the Two Sahih (authentic) Books of Hadith (i.e. Al-Bukhari and Muslim) on the authority of Ibn Mas`ud (may Allah be pleased with him) who reported Allah's Messenger as saying, I am a human being like you and liable to forget like you, so if I forget remind me.
