Q 4: What is the ruling on a woman who smiles in the presence of a non-Mahram person (not a spouse or an unmarriageable relative) without showing her teeth?


A: It is Haram (prohibited) for a Muslim woman to uncover her face or to smile in the presence of a non-Mahram man as this would invite evil consequences. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
