Q 25: who is the waliy (a legally accountable person acting for a woman seeking marriage) of a woman from the People of the Book?
A: Her Waliy is one of her agnate relatives, exactly as a Muslim woman. The nearest of these are her father, then her paternal grandfather, then her great-grandfather, then her son, then her grandsons, then her great-grandsons, where the nearest has the priority, and then comes the rest of the agnate relatives according to the order of inheritance.
