A plan to memorize the Qur''an

Q 4: A teacher advised me not to go deeply into the memorization of the Qur'an without the assistance of a shaykh lest negative consequences should happen; is this correct?

(Part No. 12; Page No. 108) A: It is preferable to learn the Qur'an by reciting it with a good reciter as long as this is possible. However, if this is not possible, you have to recite the Qur'an according to your ability. This is because of the Ayah (Qur'anic verse) in which Allah (Exalted be He) says: Allâh burdens not a person beyond his scope. And the Hadith in which the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ... He who reads the Qur'an with difficulty and falters in it shall have a double reward. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
