A deer hunted by a dog dying before it has been slaughtered
Q 7: What
is the ruling on a deer caught by a dog that died without being slaughtered?
Is it permissible to eat it, and if so, what is the ruling on the parts that were bitten by the dog?
A:
If the dog was sent out to hunt by its owner, who mentioned the Name of Allah when doing so, there is nothing wrong with eating what it caught if it was dead when you found it. But if it was found alive, it is obligatory that it should be slaughtered in accordance with the Shari‘ah (Islamic law). There is no harm in eating meat from the parts that were bitten by the dog, based on the authentically reported Sunnah on the lawfulness of this.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
